Buying a computer for college is an investment and we want you to be able to protect that investment. Subsequently, the standard price for our Dell laptop computers includes four years of CompleteCare coverage. With CompleteCare you are covered for the duration of your four year Dell warranty against accidental damage such as dropping your laptop, spilling a beverage on the computer, stepping on it or dropping objects on your system. Typical repair costs for these types of situations could cost you $500 or more. You can choose to forgo the CompleteCare coverage if you wish, but it is a great protection option for your computer investment. CompleteCare Coverage, however, does not protect you in case of fire or theft. We advise talking to your insurance provider about coverage options for you computer while living on campus.
Unfortunately, Apple does not offer any type of accidental damage coverage. We highly recommend looking into coverage options that might be available through your insurance provider or a third party provider such as Safeware .
