All students in the Greenville College Laptop Program have warranty service and technical support provided through the Information Technology Department Help Desk. If you are in the laptop program and have a problem with your computer you can bring it by the Help Desk on the Greenville Square and one of our technicians will assist you. All software problems are serviced free of charge. Hardware problems and/or damage incurred due to manufacturer defects are also serviced free of charge.
When you purchase a Dell or Mac laptop through our program it comes
with a manufacturer warranty on parts and labor. The Dells are covered
for 4 years and Macs for 3 years. If a part fails on your system, you
will not be charged anything for the repair. Help Desk technicians are
Dell Certified to perform warranty repairs onsite. Most Apple repairs
will require shipment to the company. Our staff will assist in making
arrangements for repair.
Laptop Battery Coverage:
Currently, Dell and Apple only offer a one year manufacturer's warranty on batteries.
Dell CompleteCare Coverage:
In addition to the standard four year manufacturer’s warranty, lDell aptop computers bought through Greenville College’s sanctioned laptop program also come with four years of CompleteCare coverage by default unless you choose to opt out of this service at the time of purchase. CompleteCare coverage covers all accidental damage to the computer but will not cover intentional abuse, theft or loss by fire. Our Help Desk staff highly recommends CompleteCare coverage.
CompleteCare covers accidental damage such as:
- Damage incurred by dropping the laptop
- Spilling liquid on the laptop
- Cracked LCD screens
- Keys broken off of the keyboard
